A Different Kind of Thanksgiving 2013

We did something different this year for Thanksgiving.  Grandma and Jack came for a visit and on Wednesday night we checked into a hotel in downtown Chicago, walked to dinner and then headed to the United Center for the circus!  We stayed overnight and then went to the parade in the morning (in the freezing cold weather).  We stayed at the parade for about an hour, then headed back to the hotel to warm up!  It was different, but we had a great time.

Waiting for the circus to start

Lizzie really wanted some popcorn

Steve the clown

Stevie was so clever, using his hat as a popcorn bowl.  Although he saved some in his hat and later put it on his head.  When he took it back off there was popcorn flying everywhere!  Haha!

They had pretty funny clowns that did lots of bits.....I think their names were Alex and Ariana.

I tried to get some pictures, but my point and shoot was slagging.  Had to get a picture of a horse for Lizzie.

Clowns

Stevie's favorite part.  A lady shot out of a cannon and landed.....

here!  He was pretty quiet the whole time before this happened.  Before she shot out of the cannon he had the television stare going on.

Lizzie really enjoyed the circus.  She was so animated watching it, it was fun to watch her.

These 2 were very enthusiastic and I had to take a picture.  They made Steve and I giggle.

My beautiful family

Our view from the hotel room.

Our spot at the Chicago Thanksgiving Day Parade.  We were a block after the ending, but still got to see all the people, music and the floats turned down right before they would've gone passed us.

Here you can see them turning down Randolph Street.

This was to our left

Apparently I didn't take any pictures and only have video.
