I thought for a while that my kid would never be potty trained. Thankfully I had my best friend, Corinne, there to support me. She went through the same thing with her son and she just kept on telling me that he would just all of a sudden be ready. That's pretty much what happened. We had tried everything since he was 2. Buying a cool potty chair, bribing with candy and toys, charts, stickers, making him go every 20 minutes, just putting underwear on him (which he would just go and keep on playing) and whatever else people swear by. Nothing worked. I was also definitely at fault. When I was pregnant with Elizabeth I was just too miserable to take the time and patience required to potty train, by the time I was ready he was already too hard-headed! LOL! I finally took my queue when, for a few weeks, he would lock himself in the closet every time he had to go #2. We also had an itching of a poopy butt incident that made me realize that he was too old to be wearing diapers. So I put underwear on him and we had one poopy accident the next day and that was the last one. It was pretty funny when he finally went poopoo, after holding it in as long as he could, we had company over. It was great, he came running out so excited, no pants, shirt up and we all just shouted in excitement.
It feels so great to be changing diapers for only one child. It's great for me and my wallet.
Stevie's lovely modeling of his underwear. I asked to take his picture and this is the pose he preferred! LOL!
