December Days

For homeschool we've been doing some science experiments.
For this one we added baking soda to each cup of water, then put either end of the string in the water. Then we waited a few days to see what would happen.

Isn't that cool?  The water is moving up the string and it's taking the baking soda with it.  After a few days, it's building up and the middle is still dry.

We made Pearl a pearl necklace as a gift.

Did I show you the kid's lists for Santa?  Lizzie has a theme going.
.

Lizzie isn't the only kid that has been helping me with treats this holiday.
Check out this Rolo structure.

Stevie's been a great help too!

I just realized that putting my recipes in plastic sleeves are genius.  You can use dry erase markers on it!  I can't believe I just figured that out....

Here are all the cookies we sent out to family for Christmas presents.  A labor of love.

One thing we've been trying to do this Christmas season is....well....I don't know what to call it!  We have this jar that I printed out nice things to do on pieces of paper and one of the kids picks one out every morning.  We have things like...make cards for in-field missionaries from ward..or..donate toys to a good cause..or..do something nice for Daddy..or..make care package for local missionaries..or..leave a gift card for the mail carrier, etc.

These pictures are from when we picked out, Drop coins in places for people to find.  I know my kids LOVE finding coins on the ground, so they placed some strategically throughout the mall to bring joy to someone else who might find them!
